Perry: ‘I’ll end Obama’s war on religion’

Rick Perry promised to “end Obama’s war on religion” in a new tv ad touting his socially conservative credentials.

The Texas governor, who’s in the midst of an ad blitz in Iowa, stated there is “something wrong with America” when gays and lesbians are granted to serve openly in the military, but, in Perry’s words, “can’t openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school.”

The ad is a play for Iowa’s numerous socially conservative voters, who may have an out-sized impact in the state’s Jan. 3 caucuses.

Watch a video of the spot below:

I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m a Christian, but you do not need to be in the pew every Sunday to know there is something wrong in this country when gays can serve openly in the military but our children cannot openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school.
As President, I’ll end Obama’s war on religion. And I’ll fight against liberal attacks on our religious heritage.
Faith made America strong. It can make her strong again.
I’m Rick Perry and I approve this message.
