It has been confirmed by Namco Bandai that Soulcalibur V which is slated to release early next year will include Ezio Auditore from the Assassin’s Creed series as a playable character. ‘Exhilarating’ 3D fighting mechanics, ‘breathtaking’ visuals, and new characters are apparently on offer to gamers who buy this title.

In the game, Ezio will be equipped with his range of assassination tools which cover the Roman Longsword, a Stiletto, a Crossbow, a Hidden Gun and the trademark Hidden Blades. This will be the first time that the two huge franchises – Soulcalibur and Assassin’s Creed will come together in a single game. Ubisoft, which owns the rights to the latter series has revealed that it is ‘excited’ to have partnered with Namco Bandai for this title.
Carlson Choi, Vice President of Marketing for Namco Bandai Games America, explained, “We are very excited to bring two groundbreaking and influential franchises together with Soulcalibur and Assassin’s Creed. Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series has captivated millions of fans around the world with its unique locations, story and gameplay mechanics. We are proud to now have Ezio Auditore as part of the Soulcalibur universe.”
It has also been confirmed that Soulcalibur V would be offered in a Collector’s Edition copy that will include a music CD, making-of-video content, hardcover art book and Dark Knight and White Knight downloadable armor sets for Character Creation Mode. Events in the game take place seventeen years after those of Soulcalibur IV. The story of Patroklos, son of Sophitia Alexandra, unfurls as his family’s destiny now depends on the Soul swords.
Soulcalibur V, which will incorporate Ezio Auditore as a playable character, is now available for pre-order for the PS3 and Xbox 360 through major retailers at 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 2,987). The game will be released in North America on January 31, 2012.
