Developed by a new BioWare studio named BioWare Victory, Command & Conquer Generals 2 was unveiled for the first time at the recently concluded Spike TV VGA event. This new project is a PC exclusive and will be powered by the Frostbite 2 engine. It is stated to include cutting-edge visuals, sound, and destruction which would endow strategy games with a new level of fidelity.

Like the previous titles in the popular series, Generals 2 propels gamers in the middle of a full-blown war between three unique factions. Its story commences when a peace signing treaty, which is supposed to bring an end to global warfare is interrupted by a terrorist organization by killing everyone in attendance. This has left no one but the world’s military superpowers in control of the grave situation.
Ray Muzyka, General Manager of EA’s BioWare label, revealed, “We’re bringing BioWare’s vision for emotionally engaging gameplay and great attention to quality to the strategy genre and the Command & Conquer franchise. I am excited to welcome BioWare Victory to our label. They are a great addition and the team is working hard to make sure Generals 2 truly immerses and engages players into this intense, gritty, modern war experience.”
Gamers will be required to assume the roles of military leaders so as to put an end to global terrorism once and for all. Three unique factions will be on offer in the game’s single-player campaign. Moreover, gamers can even play with their friends on-line in co-operative and competitive multiplayer modes. The last game in this series to have hit the scene was Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight, which was launched for PC last year.

The release of Command & Conquer Generals 2 is still a long way ahead, as the game is scheduled to hit the PC in 2013.
