Bohemia Interactive Launches Arma 2: Free

Free games seem to be the flavor of the season with increasing number of developers getting into the act. The latest entrant into the list is Bohemia Interactive who has released Arma 2: Free beta, a free-to-play beta version of the mil-sim title. The game supposedly puts forth nearly everything offered by its original version.
Just like in the previous title, gamers can build their own scenarios as well as use missions and game-modes made by others. The game grants customizations complete from battlefield simulation and bullet ballistics to material penetration and more. This beta includes more than 300 weapons, units and armed or unarmed vehicles in air, land and water categories.
The multiplayer mode offers maps which grant over 50 players and hundreds of AI units to play at a time. Co-op and PvP modes are also available in the title with dedicated servers for both Linux and Windows OS. The beta is also equipped with quick mission templates SP/MP mission editor and advanced scripting. Moreover, the game is fully compatible with the full Arma 2.
