Kinect Fun Labs was seen greeting the eagerly awaited Avatar Kinect as it launched for download through Xbox Live on a worldwide scale yesterday. Capable of capturing facial expressions of users, the game is touted to be a new social entertainment experience that brings avatars of players to life. Microsoft also said that Kinect Sparkler will see an Xbox Live release on July 28.

Avatar Kinect

Avatar Kinect translates the actual gestures of users into the actions which are simultaneously performed by their avatars on the screen. The game enables users to invite a maximum of seven friends and interact with them in the 24 imaginative virtual stages. They can either converse about gossip and news on the Talk Show Stage feature or perform comic acts on Performance Stage. Users can even compete and play games in the Sports Party Stage.

Another notable trait of this title is that it is capable of recording user sessions for posting them on-line through KinectShare.com. Gamers can then share the videos on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other such websites. Come Thursday, and the Xbox Facebook page will be holding an Avatar Kinect on-line comedy festival ‘with some of Hollywood’s funniest stand-up comedians.’ Voting for them will earn users a chance to win an Xbox 360 and Kinect bundle.

Another Kinect special gearing up in Microsoft’s stable is Kinect Sparkler which is slated to launch this Thursday. The game uses technologies like background removal and detailed finger tracking in order to convert easy finger paintings into aerial light shows. Users can paint the virtual form of their rooms and view it from multiple angles by moving their heads.

Avatar Kinect is currently available to download free for all Xbox Live members until September 8, after which it would only be available to Xbox Live Gold subscribers. Kinect Sparkler which releases on July 28 will cost gamers 240 Microsoft Points.
