Van Halen Sign To Interscope – Report
Reunited rockers Van Halen have signed a new all-encompassing deal with Jimmy Iovine’s Interscope Records after the bold chairman approached the bandmates and requested to work with them.
The huge industry news, first reported by The Hollywood Reporter, comes amid rumors the group, fronted by original singer David Lee Roth, are on the verge of announcing new album and tour plans for 2012.
The new deal reportedly includes touring, merchandising, marketing and recording.
Meanwhile, sources close to the band, which now features brothers Eddie and Alex Van Halen and Eddie’s son Wolfgang, insist rumors suggesting the Jump hitmakers will perform at the upcoming Grammy Awards Nominations concert later this month are not true.
The denial comes despite a tweet from the Grammy Foundation earlier this month, which read, “Who do you predict the reuniting band will be @ GRAMMYnoms?. Does this hint make you wanna ‘Jump’ & ‘Dance The Night Away?’”
Jump and Dance The Night Away are Van Halen hits.
