Boyle To Join Cast Of Life Story Musical
TV talent show sensation Susan Boyle is to appear in the musical based on her rags-to-riches life story.
The Scottish singer, who became an overnight sensation after wowing the judges on British TV show Britain’s Got Talent in 2009, will be joining the cast of I Dreamed a Dream for an 11-week tour across the U.K. and Ireland.
British actress Elaine C. Smith will portray Boyle in the production – but the singer will appear and perform during the finale.
Boyle says, “I am thrilled to be a part of the musical about my life story and very much looking forward to stepping on stage and performing with the cast. It is an honest portrayal of my life and has been a cathartic process to be involved in.”
Producer Michael Harrison adds, “I can’t wait to see the audience reaction when she walks on stage.”
The touring show begins in Newcastle, England next year.
