Keira Knightley and Rupert Friend split after five years

Speaking from his home in Richmond, south west London, he added: “They were together for quite a long time and it is always hard breaking up.
The newspaper reported that “cracks” appeared in early December when Friend, 29, attended the London Coliseum gala production of The Nutcracker, instead taking his mom Caroline.
Knightley has become Britain’s ideal paid actress after earning Oscar and BAFTA nominations, a modelling contract with Chanel.
Estimated to be worth £30 million, she has two new films in the pipeline and on-going theater work.
Last month, Knightley admitted she found it difficult to cope with the attention of the media, claiming that fame had “broken something” in her.
“I was told very early on that if I did not go out to openings and parties and events I would be left alone. I didn’t, and they still did not leave me alone,” she told Vogue magazine.
“I knew it was part of the deal in the life I had signed up to, but the fear of it has never left me.
“I’m still not good at being recognised. I wear scruffy clothes and hats and keep my head well down.”
She added: “I’m sure people must think I’m a complete b—-, but I’m just very shy.”
Spokesmen for the pair were unavailable for comment.
