Harry Potter and Star Wars actor indecently exposed himself to teenage girl
She said: “He placed his hat on his crotch. I saw a movement and I was a bit shocked.
“I did not know whether to believe it.
“I looked in the reflection of the window and saw his hand moving under the hat, vigorously up and down.
“His hat tilted towards me, lifted, so I could see, but blocking the aisle.”
The lewd behaviour allegedly continued for between 30 to 40 minutes.
The teenager said: “He tried to catch my attention tilting his hat up, looking at his crotch area and then looking at me a few times.”
She got off at Leicester and reported Read to the British Transport Police, who arrested him when he disembarked at Sheffield.
Read denied the charge and when asked why he did not hang his hat up on an overhead rack instead of putting it on his lap, he replied: “Because I could not reach.”
Read, from Cheadle, Stoke-on-Trent, was warned he faced jail when sentenced later.
The jury was told he had a previous conviction for indecent assault in 2004 when, after a New Year’s Party with a Snow White panto cast, he drunkenly climbed into bed with the sleeping stage manager and his girlfriend and assaulted the woman.
