The Simpsons: Arcade Game will be launched this week through PSN, just days before the 500th episode of the series on which it is based will be telecast in the U.S. Originally released by Konami for arcades in 1991, this title is already available for download via Xbox Live.

As reported by us earlier, the game will be doled out for free to all PS Plus subscribers tomorrow. It has been revealed on the official PlayStation blog that though the title has been ported to the PS3, very few tweaks were introduced to it, in order to preserve the authenticity of the original arcade offering. A number of gameplay modes as well as bonus content will be seen making their way into this version, along with leaderboard support, Trophies, both US and Japanese ROMs and unlockable bonus content.

Blizzard has made it known that a total of 100,000 Diablo III beta invites have been sent by it to gamers residing in North America. Those who have opted for this test have been asked by the developer to check their Battle.net accounts for notifications of them being chosen.

And those who’re unlucky enough to have not received any such invites need not be disappointed, for over the coming weeks, various promotions, contests and giveaways will be conducted to hand out the Diablo III beta keys. These will take place on Blizzard’s very own websites as well as those of fans. In partnership with Aspyr Media, Bethesda Softworks has announced the launch of Rage: Campaign Edition which can now be bought for Mac systems. Released as a digital download, this game is being offered in English, French and German languages through Apple’s Mac App Store, Aspyr’s GameAgent.com and other supporting Mac digital retailers.

Besides confirming May 22, 2012 as the release date for Dragon’s Dogma, Capcom has also revealed that this game will come bundled with a playable demo of the much anticipated Resident Evil 6. The former title is an open world action game that will also be made available in Europe on May 25.

Soulcalibur V might still be a few days away from its launch, but that hasn’t stopped Namco Bandai Games from announcing three premium DLC packs for the European version of this fighting game. Said to be filled with exclusive new customization items as well as in-game music, these packs will all be released periodically in the month of February.

On the game’s launch day – February 3, the first premium DLC will go on sale, providing buyers with options for nine new customization items which include bikinis, wings and face paints. This pack will also comprise original music from Soul Blade and Soulcalibur. Subsequently, on February 14 the second DLC will land on the scene making available nine more customization items such as a breast plate, kimono and animal heads. And then, it’ll all include original music from Soulcalibur II and III.

Call of Duty Elite premium users who downloaded the first DLC for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 were quick to realize that this content was locked to a single profile, not allowing access to more than one account. This was not well received by users as the terms of these DLCs had mentioned that multiple gamers on the same console can utilize the downloads. It is no surprise that Activision will be preparing an update for the game to fix the matter.

Through a statement sent to Joystiq by Infinity Ward, the developer mentioned this issue to be ‘unintentional’ and that a patch is being worked upon. After a short duration of the release of the Liberation and Piazza maps for MW3, gamers had apparently jumped onto the forums of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 to report that these maps worked with just one gamertag on the Xbox 360. This means that only those Elite subscribers who downloaded the maps can use them online. However, the maps will be playable in the offline split-screen mode as long as the owner of the content is the host.

“We comprehend that ELITE Premium Members on Xbox Live who bought the latest DLC Content Drop for Modern Warfare 3 are unable to access that content while signed into other profiles on the same console that originally downloaded the content. This is unintentional and we will work to get an update out as soon as possible that corrects this issue and grants you to continue to enjoy the new maps,” Infinity Ward spokesperson, Robert Bowling, told the website.

The DLC drop happened as per the schedule which was revealed by Activision earlier this month. Free and exclusive only to Elite members who own Xbox 360 consoles, this content will be released for other users in the near future, requiring them to buy it online.
