CTEC wins QLD power station works
Perth-based engineering and construction group CTEC has won a contract to design and construct the 242 megawatt Diamantina power station near Mt Isa in Queensland for APA Group and AGL.
CTEC will construct a gas-fired power station using Siemens turbines, the company stated in a statement today.
CTEC stated it had been working closely with the project sponsors, APA and AGL, for over a year.
The plant will provide power for local residents of Mt Isa, as well as major mining contractors in the region.
The first stage will be finished in December 2013, and the second within three months of that.
The project is expected to create more than 500 jobs.
Balcatta-based CTEC is also currently completing the 80 megawatt Merredin power station, and
